Obituary for Gary Bruce Brockman

Gary B. Brockman, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at his home in Smyrna, GA. A Funeral Mass in his memory is scheduled this week at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4465 Northside Drive NW, Atlanta, GA 30327. Immediately following the service, a reception for family and friends will take place at the church. Gary is survived by, Dorothy, his wife of 49 years; son, Gary (Josie) Brockman; daughter, Kim (Dave) Pearch; his grandchildren, Josh Brockman, Emerson Pearch, and Peyton Pearch; mother, Rose Brockman; and brother, Robert (Linda) Brockman. Gary was a devoted husband, caring father and loving grandfather. In fact, nothing made him smile more than his grandchildren. A highly-decorated veteran, he served our country during his almost eight-year service as a U.S. Marine, which included two tours of duty in The Vietnam War. He was a successful businessman, spending many years at the H.J. Heinz Company, an avid golfer and a spirited Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. He is missed dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Stand Up to Cancer at www.StandUpToCancer.org or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.StJude.org
Please honor the family’s request for donations only thank you.
