Obituary for Kevin Bruce Danner

Kevin B. Danner, age 64 of Smyrna, passed away on Wednesday April 26, 2017. He was born to the late Walter and Martha Danner in Frederick, Maryland on May 29, 1952. Kevin’s brothers are David B. Danner, of Frederick, MD and the late Michael A. Danner, of Canyon Country, California. Kevin was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and earned their highest honor of Eagle Scout in 1968. He graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in 1970. Soon after he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. Kevin went on to earn a degree from Essex Community College after his enlistment and later continued his education in Biology at Frostburg University. Kevin met his soul-mate, Donna in 1977 while attending Frostburg. In 1978, he re-enlisted with the U.S. Navy and was assigned to Dobbins Air Force Base. Kevin and Donna were married on October 20, 1979 and moved to Smyrna, Georgia. Kevin left the Navy in 1983 and spent the next 25 years of his life working at various jobs and raising his family. He was a long time member of King Spring Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the NRA. Kevin loved having a good conversation and reading and learning new things. He spent his retired years reveling in his military and gun collecting hobbies and attending shows with his buddies. He was always remodeling and making improvements to the house or helping his children with work around their homes. He enjoyed being a handy man, sharing his knowledge and love of history, and vacationing with his family. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children: Erika, Laura, and Karl; and his granddaughter, Aubrey. Kevin was a devoted husband, loving father, and a doting Opa. He was a jack of all trades, a man of great wisdom who always made you laugh with his quick wit and jokes, and a wonderful friend who was always willing to help others. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday May 6, 2017 from 12:00-1:45 PM in the Welcome Center of King Spring Baptist Church; followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary. Kevin’s family will lay his cremains to rest in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at a later date. Flowers or donations may be sent to King Spring Baptist Church.
