Obituary for Judy Ann Pope

Judy Ann Pope, 56 was born on January 30, 1961 in Atlanta, GA to the late Bobby and Edith Pierce. She was the oldest of five siblings. She departed this life and became present with the Lord on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Judy attended high school at Roosevelt High in Atlanta, Georgia where she met the love of her life. She soon married and had three beautiful girls. She was a skilled packer for JC Penney Warehouse in Forest Park, GA and shared her gift with her family for many years. Judy was an excellent and gentle caretaker caring for her children, grandchildren, and parents and a mighty protector. She was beautiful, loving, and sensitive, but should the stars shift, she was mean, stubborn, and a force to be reckoned with. Nevertheless, she could make a mad sandwich and when she finally discovered the iron skillet, she made magic in the kitchen. She enjoyed spending time with her family watching football, listening to music, or trying to catch the big one at the local swimming hole. She loved southern home cooking, wild flowers, elephants, her cat, and her grandchildren. Oh how she loved her grandchildren. She blessed the lives of many and will be deeply missed for years. Judy is survived by her former spouse and beloved friend, George T. Pope Jr. of Griffin; Daughters Rhonda C. Pope-Nobles of Smyrna, Julie A. Pope Andrews and husband Jeff Andrews of Marietta, and April L. E. Pope Venegas and husband Adrian Venegas of Spring Lake, NC; Siblings Angelia K. Pierce Salas, Donna J. Pierce Payne and husband Mark Payne of Ranger, Ricky L. Pierce of Ranger, Betty S. Piece and husband Jose Aguilar of Marietta, Barbie L. Pierce and John Ellis of Blue Ridge and Bobbie L. Pierce of Smyrna; and Grandchildren Megan Nobles, Jaccob Pope, Kimberlynn Holder, Honesty Pope, Morgan Nobles, Jaziah Colquitt, Kierstein Colquitt, Kamden Colquitt, Ava Venegas, and Hunter Pope. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives, friends, and her best buddy Raymond. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at Carmichael Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Preferred attire is non-traditional, vibrant colors. The burial will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to Carmichael Funeral Home at 2950 King Street SE, Smyrna, GA 30080. Memorial donations may be made to House of Prayer #2 Apostolic Church at 901 Milford Church Road, Marietta, GA 30060. The family wishes to thank all that were a part of the great life she lived.
