Obituary for Josh Thurmond

Josh was a wonderful, caring person who loved his son, Sebastian, his family, and, his girlfriend, Claudia. He was a very talented musician and an excellent guitar player. Old friends might remember him as a member of the local band, “Winzipper”.

He served his country in the US Navy for 4 years as a member of the VP-1 Screaming Eagles and served overseas in such places as the Philippines and Iraq. He was employed in the Aviation Department at Home Depot and really enjoyed his job.

He loved to travel and after leaving the military, he back-packed across Europe and this past year, he and Claudia took a trip to Southern Europe and Italy. He felt strongly about his political and social beliefs and as people on Facebook can attest, loved to debate and defend his views. He loved the outdoors and was very concerned about protecting the environment.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
