Obituary for John Calvin Johnson, Jr.

John Calvin Johnson Jr. 93, passed on 19-03-2018. He was born in Smyrna Ga. on Dec. 17 1924 and lived his complete life in Smyrna. He was proceeded in death by his father, J.C. Sr. and mother Martha J. Johnson, his wife Betty Brook Johnson, and his daughter Linda Susan Johnson. He is survived by his son John C Johnson III (Cindy), Grandchildren Kathy Ezzell (Tracy) John Calvin Johnson IV (Nichole), Beth Johnson and 4 great grandchildren.

He retired from the Georgia Power Company with 37 years as a Boiler Turbine Operator at Plant McDonough/Atkinson in Smyrna. He was a 70+ year member of Nelms Masonic Lodge Number 323 in Smyrna, past member of the Atlanta Scottish Rite and past member of the Shriners. He was a long time member of the Smyrna First Baptist Church, King Springs Baptist and Lost Mountain Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley.

The family has requested in leu of flowers that donations in his name be made to the Georgia Masonic Children's Home, PO Box 4183, Macon Ga. 31208.

A memorial service will be held at Lost Mountain Baptist Church in Powder Springs, GA. The Service will be at 11:00 Saturday, April 7th with the family receiving friends at 10:00 at the church.
